The "Deep Tunnel Storm Water System" is a tunnel construction with a length of 10.4 km and inlet shafts up to 45 m deep. The inner diameter of the tunnel, which is excavated using two tunnel boring machines with segmental lining, is 10 metres. The tunnel will be used to channel groundwater and rainwater towards a pumping station by the sea. Once completed, around 40 percent of Dubai's urban area will be drained by the tunnel, including Dubai South, Al Maktoum International Airport, the EXPO 2020 site and neighbouring villages.

While PORR is pressing ahead with the construction of the Green Line underground railway in Doha on schedule and to the complete satisfaction of the client Qatar Railways Company, PORR has also been entrusted with the construction of the slab track in Qatar. 
The contract includes the production, delivery and laying of the track panels for the three metro lines (Green, Red and Gold Line). The project is being realised by PORR Bau GmbH in cooperation with the local subsidiary PORR Qatar Construction W.L.L.
